2/5. If you are into Moroccan food then it's just an average place with mild flavors and spices. nothing special except I found harira satisfactory. Restaurent closed at 12am and we arrived at 10:30pm, pita pieces was cold dry ..upon asking to warm it a bit, server replied she can't as her chef/boss not allowing it coz restaurent is about to close. We were surprised ..since we already ordered the stuff n were soo famished we had no other choice to sit in n eat. I checked google reviews and prefer this one but i must say the food which they provide not the worth of your money.
I strongly suggest not going to this place. The food took forever to come even when there were few people at the place. In my opinion the food was nothing special.
If the incident shared by Atif is true," It's really bad that cop also didn't pay attention on this , as no one can bare the disrespectful behavior, to the owner it may be acceptable in your home country, but not here . We are Canadian and for us self respect is first.
This is the Wrost experience i have ever had with any restaurent anywhere around world. There should be an option to give 0 stars. The employee who was also thr manager was rude beyond my words can describe. I had to call the cops on him because he kicked me out of the restaurent by harassing me and my family. The food arrived cold and portions were very small compare to any other restaurent . the food tasted nothing like fresh food and after i took a few bites i got a hair in my lamb kabab. I told the owner kindly to see the hair and he started telling me your lying and then he said get out of my restaurent when i said i cant pay for this lamb kabab dish. I still paid but he yelled at me for just asking to see the hair in the kabab and for the portion being very small. It wasnt even enough for one person and the coet was 18 dollars for the plate.
This small restaurant offers a variety of delicious typical Moroccan dishes. The service is a little long since there is only one employee, but the time remains acceptable. I will definitely return!
It's a shame to call it Moroccan, the worst dining experience I ever had. The manager is not professional and very rude...
I'd definitely return here with my wife. We both loved the mint tea and the meals.
Food good and BYO wine so reasonible price overall. But beware of it declaring earlier closing than stated close time and restricting menu choices to try to achieve this.
amazing meal! great merguez!
Delicious dishes and tasty! A restaurant bring your rare wine in this area that is worth seeing. Only downside, the leader who serves as hostess, waitress, owner, would do well to hire a real waiter / waitress ... to each his skills and specialties. Take the time to cajole and flatter in the right direction if it may seem a tad too nice at first glance ... to work on his side! But for food no complaints!
Do not I repeat do not go to this restaurant! The staff is absolutely horrible and are in desire need of customer service lessons.I went here with a group of friends today, and the audacity of the wait staff, I cannot fathom.Upon entering, the chef yelled "shut the door", as if I was his staff. I said nothing and kindly shut the door.We were seated and because of the staff's inflexibility he had us reassigned to another table. Absolutely unexceptable. The staff is RUDE and unwelcoming. Will never go back here.
Very rude and racist behavior by the owner especially with Indian subcontinent people. The owner was talking very gental with other customer but he was very rude with South Asians. I don't even want to give one star.
Super endroit tres bon le proprietaire est tres sympatique
Great discovery!! Delicious food, really tasty. The only problem is that you have to wait so much time until your food arrives, if there are more tables occupied, since it is a small kitchen and an only cooker.Pd: they don't serve alcohol, but allow the people to bring their own
We stumbled into this hidden gem, and thank goodness. All dishes were made fresh and they were beautifully seasoned, generous portions. The tastes were amazing. Chef, Redone, was friendly and spoke with us after dinner. He trained in France, Chicago and Orlando and his skills revealed themselves in the subtle & complex dishes. Superb. Relax and take your time.
Hygiene remains to be desired! And the owner, who is also the cook and the waiter at the same time is not at all courteous.Very small place also with too much noise. So if someone is looking to eat in a clean place with a minimum of peace, this will surely be the wrong place!
Bring your own wine. They do the rest!!! Delicious food in a small but friendly environment! Absolutely loved the morgues and the veal kefte!! Two little supermarkets two doors up and across the road to pick up your desired beverage and you are set!! Enjoy!
Delicious fresh Greek salad and taboule rich with parsley and lemon / vinegar the way I like it.
pathetic service and rude owner.
Zero stars. It appears they have been closed for sometime. Dying or dead plants in the window.
Food is good price is great and the couscous royale is excellent.
Super rude guy, after sitting for 15 minutes I called him and he replies very rudely "I am busy wait" no please no sorry..What a schmuck, I left the place immediately after that without ordering..25 people only and he looses his mind..The guy is not a professional and not welcoming at all, do take your families at your own risk..
Love the food and desert. It is something special
Super nice plate and really good. Thanks for your good service. For people in no hurry!
The food seemed decent, however the server was extremely rude. As soon as more people came in (even though we were the first there) he started to get extremely irratated. He spoke in a very rude manner and the service also took a very long time. I highly do not recommend this place.
Very nice place to eat. Even though the service was a bit slow the food was excellent. The restaurant is small, clean and very inviting. Waitress was nice. Spoke English and French. We had salad, hummus, and the spicy lamb sausage. The sausages were great! Be patient, the food is worth the wait.
We had been in QC for six days and had had some good and some fair food. Even using TripAdvisor and Google reviews, as well as recommended restaurants from our hotel, we had been less than impressed. Tonight we stopped at a little spot on a side street off the big tourist street. Not much from the outside, but we liked what we saw. Maybe it was intuition. Well, we had the best meal in a week at this Moroccan restaurant. The flavors were wonderful and perfectly balanced. The Hummus was unlike any we have had back home in Boston. The chicken shish-kebab was wonderfully seasoned with flavorful rice and a combination salad/tabouli that blended beautifully.
Went here with my Dad, who is Moroccan, during our trip to Quebec for his birthday. The food was really authentic, and everything was wonderful Redouan, the chef/host/server, was extremely friendly and attentive. Highly recommend!
Very unprofessional behavior, tasteless food and rude staff. Owner need to be a cleaner instead of running food business.
Amazing meal! Restraunt was very clean, great service, and best Morrocan I have ever had! Was very quiet which was crazy because the food is amazing!!
Très bon resto Apportez votre Vin au coeur du Vieux Quebec!Great food, beautiful dishes, authentic ambiance. The owner does everything himself, from service to made from scratch food. 100% will go back!
I wish I had option of giving ZERO stars !! The manager yelling at me and telling me to get out just because of me telling him the food was not as expected. I paid $40 for this humiliation in front of other customers. The guy doesn't has any manners and doesn't know how to behave with people. I would call him a bit racist as well because the customer before me also complained about the food but the manager did not tell them to get out but when I told him the same, he immediately yelled at me. He also didn't give me boxes to pack my remaining food. Instead he was telling me that if the food is not good then leave it here. Why should I leave it there, the food I paid $40 for ?? He was also threatening me so I had to call the cops as well !! If you respect yourself and value your money then I would strongly suggest you to not go there !!
A very bad and unprofessional service. Plus food is pathetic.
Not an extra ordinary experience when you are Moroccan and know the quality of Moroccan food. I was advised not to go for it by a taxi driver (Moroccan), but my family still wanted to try. Service was extremely slow. It was overpriced. The food was not that authentic. Definitely not an option if I am back to Quebec City.
Such a cozy place to eat . Food tasted so good 👍 You get a LOT of food for your money!
Horrible staff and pathetic food. I strongly recommend not to go to this place.
We come here everytime we are in Quebec City which is at least twice a year. I can't say enough good things about it. The food it's amazing everytime, the owner is always so friendly and grateful. Will always come back
You need to eat here!!!Reading the negative reviews it looks like they are being put here do to racism.. One reviewer didn't even eat here!Yes it's a one man show here,it took a long time to get the food. But isn't that how fresh made food is supposed to be?I had the lamb with rice and dates. Salad as an appetizer..Everything I had was phenomenal and cooked to perfection. Talked with the owner he has trained as a chef from all over the world. It's bring your own alcohol but there is a small store across the street.Do yourself a favor and eat here while you can get a seat!!!!
Amazing food with a great casual amhiance. I love this place.
Food is delicious, dishes are huge.I tried chicken with olives and pickled lemon which was superb.Price wise is reasonable too.I highly recommend it..
Horrible experience Threatening behavior
What a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, and reasonably priced. I could not decide what to have and asked for anything off the specialties menu. My tajine with lamb and prunes was delightful. My wife had the chicken brochettes and was equally pleased. We were able to enjoy a lovely conversation with our host/owner/server after our meal. So much multi-tasking, but he did it so well. We were very well looked after. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxing, with just the right amount backgound music and proper evening lighting. We couldn't have been happier with our choice. For other first-timers here, you will need to ask for the bill when done. You have not been forgotten, you are intentionally not being rushed out. We look forward to our next visit.
Food was excellent!! The restaurant was short staffed and it was a one man show and he did it all well. The lamb was so tender and spiced too perfection. The pita and hummus was a nice start and the mint tea was an excellent way to finish. We loved it was just off the craziness of the main drag much quieter.
A little gem of a restaurant that my wife and I found on our last night in Old Quebec. My wife, who has traveled in North Africa, rated the food excellent and authentic. And she was able to engage the delightful young man who served us in Arabic. This is a small, family run place that definitely deserves a visit. The decor and tableware were obviously brought with them from Morroco, and they definitely take pride in their food and service. BYOB or there's a place across the street where you can buy beer and wine.
Very bad experience
We had couscous with lamb and Mediterranean salad. Both were delicious. Lamb was very tender (small pieces though), and there were well cooked pieces of veggies (carrots, zucchini, raisin, chickpeas) over the couscous and some lamb broth. The service was very slow, but friendly staff. Meat is halal according to the staff.
Service can be a bit slow but the food is good and the staff was friendly and accommodating. We we're here nine years ago and it is essentially the same today.
A restaurant to discover! A well-kept secret from Quebec! Tasty, warm, friendly in an atmosphere that makes you travel! I have never had couscous so good! I will go back anytime!
Delicious!
